Holiday horrors
"Lassiter is the daughter of the wonderful author Mary Hoffman, and is a young writer to look out for. Her descriptions of a family at war with itself reminded me strongly of Alan Garner’s The Owl Service, and are genuinely scary. She writes superbly and maps modern family with pinpoint accuracy but her real strength lies in creating an atmosphere of weird creepiness within the everyday, this allows her to slowly ratchet the tension to screaming pitch. This book contains moments of real terror. Respect!"
